Phil leads the commercial activities and drives cross-functional collaboration required to service our customers in North America.
Prior to this role, Phil was responsible for the full profit and loss of the business focusing on customer leadership, including sales and channel marketing, as well as developing and aligning the growth strategy for foodservice across all functions.
Phil joined CSM in 2015 from H. J. Heinz, where he was Managing Director of UK and Ireland and also led the European Foodservice business. He was responsible for $1.8 billion in net sales and more than 2,500 employees. During his tenure, he led the organizational transformation of the business to private equity, brought more than 20 industry leading new products launches to market and developed the commercial plan for the UK&I, European foodservice business and the global sales organization. He also delivered the global roll-out of key customer negotiation plans, Heinz’ global sales competency framework, Customer Relationship Model and set the revenue growth agenda. In Phil’s eight years at Heinz he served in a breadth of senior sales and category leadership roles before taking on his most recent responsibility.
He started his career at Coca-Cola in a variety of sales, business development and business unit leadership roles across both the retail and foodservice channels.
Phil was educated in Manchester England in Business/Public Administration and more recently had the opportunity to attend the Harvard CEO Strategic Leadership course.
